Today I am celebrating that I have been blogging for 3 years.
3 years, how crazy is that?!
The years have just flown by and I am so glad I started my little blog 3 years ago. Looking at all my old post makes me realise how much I've grown as a blogger because some of my old post are bad aha.
In those 3 years I have been able to read some amazing books, meet wonderful bloggers, attend blogger events and so much more. I love the book blogging community as I have made some amazing friends, Sally, Daniel, Chelley, Viriginie, Andrew, Grace, Amy, Zoe and so many more that I just love and they have always supported me and I hope I have done the same to them.
One of my goals when I started my blog was to be quoted in a book. I love the thought of my quote being in a book I loved and it finally happened this year but not just 1, 3 books.
3 books I've been quoted in! How crazy is that! And to top that all off I one a UKYA Blogger Award last year for Champion Of Content, which I cannot get over.
One big thing I have learnt is how to say no.
Starting of as a book blogger I just wanted to get my blog out there and say yes to every review, even if it was a genre I didn't particularly like reading and I was up to my neck in reviews.
It is okay to say no to a review request. If it isn't something you read say no, if you have too much to read at the time say no. It is totally fine.
I went through a bit where I felt like I had too much to read for saying yes to everyone and then I felt bad if I couldn't get a review out on time and was worried what would happen. But, publishers and authors are fine with it. I work part-time and I am constantly in work and I only have so much time to read and get reviews and post up so, I try not to say yes to everything...
Even if the book is one of my most anticipated-I might say yes then.
I also started doing different post. The thing about blogging is, that it is your own blog. Blog about whatever you like. I love make-up and bath products and I thought I would start doing post on them and I glad I did as I've made some wonderful friends with some beauty & lifestyle bloggers.
So, this is only a short post to say thank you to all the publishers, authors, bloggers who have made the last 3 years amazing. For welcoming me and just being so wonderful. Also a big thank you to the wonderful publishers who kindly send me books to review, it makes my day when you send me a book you think I might like and, you're usually right!
So, my goal for next year is-
To finally finish my book. I am currently writing a YA Festival contemporary story.
Get quoted in more books.
Go to more blogger events.
Attend YALC-since I can't go this year :(
