I give it - 5/5
My review - THIS BOOK! If you're going to pick up one book in May, make it this book! It is so important and really brilliant. I teared up during certain parts of this book as I just couldn't help it.
In this book we meet Jemma. Jemma knows some secrets. Just because she can't talk doesn't mean she can't hear or think, like most people believe. Jemma knows who killed a boy locally to her and she can't do anything about it but, things are about to change and Jemma might find a way to tell somebody, or will it be too late?
I love Jemma. She is so smart and knows a lot more than people think she would just because she has cerebral palsy. There are some moments where she wishes she could talk and reply to her family members but, maybe she finally can?
I really love the family aspect in this. Jemma is adopted and has two younger adopted siblings. Her parents are so wonderful. You can tell reading it that they all love and care for these children and do anything for them and always put them first. Even though they have a few problems now and again you can feel the love. I loved reading about their family life.
This is a fantastic book that will make you cry and fall in love with Jemma. People believe she isn't strong enough or smart enough to help out but she is about to prove everyone wrong.
A brilliant YA thriller with really important characters and messages and I'm getting teary again thinking about it. Just, you all need to pick up this book.
