Today on my publishing series I am talking about Hot Key Books. I say this about everyone publisher on this series but, they publish some of my favourite books. I've always read books from them and been lucky enough to receive proofs but, this year, each book they have brought out just keeps getting better and better. We are only a few months into 2018 and the books I've read from them are definitely going to be on my favourites of 2018!
So, the books I love from Hot Key Books include The Cruel Prince by Holly Black. One of the best books of all time. I still can't get over this brilliant book and I need the sequel ASAP! To Kill a Kingdom by Alexandra Christo is also a brilliant book. I went into this book without knowing too much and I just adored this mermaid/siren fantasy story! In Search Of Us by Ava Dellaira is a beautiful story of family. Finding out who you are and about your past. Told in duel pov from a mother and daughter. I cried reading this book, it is so heartbreakingly beautiful.
Some of my other favourites include Love, Hate and Other Filters by Samira Ahmed, every book from E. Lockhart (Love, love, LOVE her books so much) Stags by M.A. Bennett, Spellslinger by Sebastien de Castell, Out of Heart by Irfan Master and just so many more! (check out their page for all their wonderful releases)
Of course, they have some exciting new books coming out and here are all the books I am really looking forward too -
- The Wicked King by Holly Back - Jan 2019
- The Electrical Venus by Julie Mayhew - April 2018
- Hope is Our Only Wing by Rutendo Tavengerwei - May 2018
- Bookshop Girl by Chloe Coles - June 2018
- My Heart Goes Bang by Keris Stainton - June 2018
- Toxic by Nicci Cloke - July 2018
- The Distance Between Me and the Cherry Tree by Paola Peretti - August 2018
What books do you love from Hot Key Books? What books are you looking forward too?!
We've all started those series and even though we love them, never read the sequel. I am one of those people. I've decided to do a post on sequels I still need to read. It's not because I don't like the first books, because I love all these series but, I just either don't have the time at the moment or, I've been lazy.
Let me know in the comments what books you still need to get too!
I read Spellslinger by Sebastien De Castell last year and really enjoyed it! The sequel is out now and also the third book (shakes head) I'm so behind but, hopefully I will get to them soon.
You're probably thinking, Beth, you love the Red Rising series how have you NOT read Iron Gold? I DON'T KNOW! I think the size of it scares me and I know Pierce Brown might have something sneaky up his sleeve and I'm ready to read it but I'm not. I still haven't bought it either .....
I adored Shadow and Bone but, I still haven't gotten too Siege and Storm or Ruin and Rising because I am a terrible person. Hopefully, I'll get to them soon because I love Leigh and I just need to finish these books.
Wintersong was one of my favourite books last year and Shadowsong came out this year and I STILL haven't read it. I know I'm going to love it but, who knows why I haven't gotten too it.
The Talon Saga is one my all time favourite series but, after the 3rd book I never picked up Legion for some strange reason (even though the 3rd book left me in pieces...) I know the 5th book is out but, I still need to buy Legion and find out what is happening with these characters as I love that series so much!
And I Darken by Kiersten White was one of my favourite reads when it came out and I STILL HAVEN'T READ NOW I RISE. I just can't deal with how behind I am on this trilogy with the 3rd one out soon. The first book was just brilliant and I've heard nothing but amazing things about Now I Rise so, hopefully I'll get too it soon.
Last one on my list is One Dark Throne by Kendare Blake. I adore Three Dark Crowns and I love the story and how fantastic it was but-have I even got the sequel? I DON'T. I think there is something about sequels that scare me but, it is my goal this year to finally get to these.
I also asked on twitter what sequels everyone needs to get too and check them out below -

So, Electric Monkey have published the Shatter Me Series by Tahereh Mafi and, the new book in the series has just been released.

Some of my favourite books they have published include some wonderful cute stories by Huntley Fitzpatrick. My Life Next Door, The Boy Most Likely To and What I Thought Was True are just some of my favourites. They are adorable and these books are always filled with fun story lines that have a hint of drama and just those books that keep you entertained and wanting more. They also publish so many wonderful books from David Levithan. His books are wonderful and I could just re-read them all the time. I Have No Secrets by Penny Joelson is just brilliant! A book that made me cry and just was oh so wonderful. Laura Jarrett has written some fantastic books and one of my favourites is In Another Life which, I just devoured when it came out and I can't recommend it enough if you haven't read anything by Laura! AND a new release from them which, was fantastic is The Exact Opposite Of Okay by Laura Steven!
