Today I am doing the Mid-Year Book Freak Out. It is always fun to do to make you remember what books you need to read. So far I've read 101 books this year. I can read 25 books one month and then 1-2 another. There is no in-between.
Also - I'm just tagging everyone because this is really fun to do.
1. The best book of the year so far...
I am torn between To Kill A Kingdom by Alexandra Christo, which is a dark YA fantasy that is just brilliant. Full of sirens, water, and twists! And The Wicked Deep by Shea Ernshaw which, is just so gripping. A tale of myths in an old town, where 3 ghost lure boys to their death each year in the summer. It is SO SO GOOD!
2. The Best Sequel Of The Year So Far...
This is a little hard for me as I am one of them people who adore the first book in a series and for some reason, it takes me years to get to the sequel. IDK why but, it happens. BUT one sequel I adored was Smoke In The Sun by Renee Ahdieh. It was the perfect follow up and just fantastic.
3. A New Releases You Haven't Read But Want To...
For this I have to choose From Twinkle, With Love by Sandhya Menon. When Dimple Met Rishi was one of my favourites last year and I cannot wait to pick this up and I still can't believe I haven't picked it up yet!
4. Most Anticipated Release For Autumn/Winter...
One book I am SUPER excited for is Muse of Nightmares by Laini Taylor. I think we are all excited for this one.
5. Your Biggest Disappointment This Year...
For me, I think this was because it was hyped up and I was in a book slump at the time. I DNF'd this book as I just couldn't connect to it. I may try and pick it back up again but, it's not high on my list. I feel bad for not liking this book since I enjoyed the authors other books. For me, it is State of Sorrow by Melinda Salisbury (runs and hides)
6. Your Biggest Surprise Of The Year So Far...
All These Beautiful Strangers by Elizabeth Klehfoth. This one surprised me as I wasn't really sure what this book was about and what would happen BUT, it was really good!
7. Your New Favourite Author...
Beside from some of the authors above I would say Holly Black, as I've only read The Cruel Prince, Tomi Adeymi and Sara Holland.
8. Your Newest Favourite Character...
Charlie Grant from Save The Date by Morgan Matson. She is so lovable and I just adore her.
9. Your Newest Fictional Crush...
Mark from Rainy Day Friends by Jill Shalvis because bae.
10. A Book That Has Made You Cry...
In Search Of Us by Ava Dellaira! This books gave me all the feels.
11. A Book That Has Made You Happy...
12. The Most Beautiful Book Of The Year So Far...
13. Some Books You Need To Read Before 2018 Ends...
SO MANY! But, these are the ones that are at the top of my list to read.
Happy July everyone!
Can you believe it is already July? And the UK has amazing hot weather?! And it's lasting which is so strange aha. So with it being July I am bringing you my August anticipated reads. These are books I cannot wait to get my hands on!

A contemporary take on the savage classic LORD OF THE FLIES: a group of mismatched, modern-day teenagers must fight to survive on a deserted island.
Link is a fish out of water. Newly arrived from America, he is finding it hard to settle into the venerable and prestigious Osney School. Who knew there could be so many strange traditions to understand? And what kind of school ranks its students by how fast they can run round the school quad - however ancient that quad may be? When a school summer trip is offered, Link can think of nothing worse than spending voluntary time with his worst tormentors. But when his parents say he can only leave Osney School - forever - if he goes on the trip, Link decides to endure it for the ultimate prize. But this particular trip will require a very special sort of endurance. The saying goes 'No man is an island' - but what if on that island is a group of teenagers, none of whom particularly like each other? When oppressive heat, hunger and thirst start to bite, everyone's true colours will be revealed. Let the battle commence . . .

The crown of Dihya had been stripped from me, my face changed, my body broken.
But I was not a slave and I was not a spare.
I was my mother's daughter, and I would survive and endure. I would find my way back home.
In a star system dominated by the brutal Vathek empire, sixteen-year-old Amani is a dreamer. She dreams of what life was like before the occupation, she dreams of writing poetry like the old world poetry she loves to hear read, she dreams of one day receiving a sign from Dihya that one day, she, too, will have adventure, and travel beyond her isolated moon.
But when adventure comes for Amani, it is not what she expects. When she is kidnapped by the government and taken in secret to the royal palace, she discovers that she is nearly identical to the cruel half-Vathek Princess Maram. The princess is so hated by her conquered people that she requires a body double, someone to appear in public as Maram, ready to die in her place. As Amani is forced into her new role, she can't help but enjoy the palace's beauty-and her time with the princess' fiancé, Idris. But the glitter of the royal court belies a world of violence and fear, and one wrong move could lead to her death.
