Hello everyone! Very exciting news that the submissions are now open for the Young Writer's Award and National Short Story award. It's so exciting that the submissions are open again. It is a really great opportunity for writers to show their talent and I really enjoyed reading this years finalist! They're are some brilliant stories out there and this is a great time to get your story heard. Mel Giedroyc will be chairing the judging panel for 2018 for the Short Stories. She will be joined by Short story writer and 2016 BCC NSSA winner Ky Orr, Granta's '20 under 40' novelist Benjamin Markovits, last year's shortlist writer Di Speirs and books editor, BBC radio and multi-award wining poet Sarah Howe. For the Young Writers' Award BBC Radio 1 and CBBC's Book Club presenter Katie Thistleton will be judging the YWA for 2018. Katie will be joined by Carnegie Medal-winning YA author Sarah Crossan, celebrated poet Dean Atta, adult and YA author William Sutcliffe and author, singer, actress and vlogger Carrie Hope Fletcher.
