So a few weeks ago the owner of RavenPost asked me if I would review her book subscription box for free and I said yes.
RavenPost is a new UK YA book subscription box. What I love about it is that it's a UK one. Most of the book subscription boxes are based in the US and being in the UK, the P&P is very pricey and we also get hit with customs so it's a lot of money.
RavenPost is £25 a month. Each month has a different theme, you get a YA book, a bookish gift from indie designers and also a hand made wooden bookmark made by the owner! So for £25 I think that is a really great price as also the bag you get your goodies in is handmade!
So what I got!
This months theme is Queens!
This is the little handmade RavenPost bag the stuff came in-
The first thing I pulled out was a hand written letter from Katelyn, the owner. It was nice getting a hand written as no one really does that lately!
Then I pull out the bookish gift from an indie designer which was a very lovely smelling wax melts by Bubble & Geek and it is called Stormborn Queen inspired by Daenerys from GoT! You take one of the cubes and put it on an oil burner and breath it in. Find them here!
Then the handmade wooden bookmark! It's so adorable and I love it so much!
And last the book! This months book is The Sin Eaters Daughter by Melinda Salisbury! It looks incredible!
Seventeen-year-old Twylla lives in the castle. But although she's engaged to the prince, Twylla isn't exactly a member of the court. She's the executioner. As the Goddess embodied, Twylla instantly kills anyone she touches. Each month she's taken to the prison and forced to lay her hands on those accused of treason. No one will ever love a girl with murder in her veins. Even the prince, whose royal blood supposedly makes him immune to Twylla's fatal touch, avoids her company. But then a new guard arrives, a boy whose easy smile belies his deadly swordsmanship. And unlike the others, he's able to look past Twylla's executioner robes and see the girl, not the Goddess. Yet Twylla's been promised to the prince, and knows what happens to people who cross the queen. However, a treasonous secret is the least of Twylla's problems. The queen has a plan to destroy her enemies, a plan that requires a stomach-churning, unthinkable sacrifice. Will Twylla do what it takes to protect her kingdom? Or will she abandon her duty in favour of a doomed love?
So all in all, I think this is going to be the start of something amazing!
For the first month I think Katelyn has done an amazing job with the goodies, the handmade stuff and the book.
Some may say £25 is pricey but that's including postage so to me it seems like a reasonable price and it's also the surprise of what you're going to get each month!
You can go subscribe for July now here!
This months theme is SINS!
So thank you again Katelyn! I love this subscription and I think, especially for people in the UK it will be awesome to have, finally, a fun book subscription box!
