Today I want to talk about one of my favourite authors.
Sara Barnard has a new book coming out on 8/2/18 and I was lucky enough to read an early copy and I just adored it. So, I wanted to talk about her previous books and why you need to pre-order her new book.
tI was brave
She was reckless
We were trouble
Best friends Caddy and Rosie are inseparable. Their differences have brought them closer, but as she turns sixteen Caddy begins to wish she could be a bit more like Rosie - confident, funny and interesting. Then Suzanne comes into their lives: beautiful, damaged, exciting and mysterious, and things get a whole lot more complicated. As Suzanne's past is revealed and her present begins to unravel, Caddy begins to see how much fun a little trouble can be. But the course of both friendship and recovery is rougher than either girl realizes, and Caddy is about to learn that downward spirals have a momentum of their own.

This is a brilliant book. This was Sara's debut novel and it really made an impact. It is full of friendships, mental health issues and the ups and downs of female friendships and being a teenager and the powerful relationship between friends.
Steffi doesn't talk.
Rhys can't hear.
They understand each other perfectly.
Love isn't always a lightning strike. Sometimes it's the rumbling roll of thunder...
Steffi has been a selective mute for most of her life - she's been silent for so long that she feels completely invisible. But Rhys, the new boy at school, sees her. He's deaf, and her knowledge of basic sign language means that she's assigned to look after him. To Rhys it doesn't matter that Steffi doesn't talk and, as they find ways to communicate, Steffi finds that she does have a voice, and that she's falling in love with the one person who makes her feel brave enough to use it.
The stunning new novel from the bestselling author of Beautiful Broken Things is a love story about the times when a whisper is as good as a shout.
This book blew me away last year. It was just so beautiful. A story of first loves, first time, mental health, diversity, physical disability.... Rhys and Steffi are just adorable. But, this is more than just a love story. This overcoming obstacles these characters have. There is a great family dynamic and just one of those books where you want to give the characters a big hug.
When I was wild, you were steady . . .
Now you are wild - what am I?
Eden McKinley knows she can’t count on much in this world, but she can depend on Bonnie, her solid, steady, straight-A best friend. So it’s a bit of a surprise when Bonnie runs away with a guy Eden knows nothing about five days before the start of their GCSEs. And it's the last person she would have expected.
Sworn to secrecy and bound by loyalty, only Eden knows Bonnie’s location, and that’s the way it has to stay. There’s no way she’s betraying her best friend. Not even when she’s faced with police questioning, suspicious parents and her own growing doubts.
As the days pass and things begin to unravel, Eden is forced to question everything she thought she knew about the world, her best friend and herself.
Sara just gets better and better. Goodbye, Perfect was everything I needed and more. This book is about trust. How much would you go to protect your best friend? This book is about something that probably does happen but, we don't hear a lot about in the news, only now and again and this story is from the best friends POV and what she goes through with keeping the secret of where her best friend is and the consequences.
Sara's books are always full of brilliant topics. She really knows how to write stories filled with best friends, the ups and downs, mental health, family relationships and so much more. The books are filled with so much emotion that you will be hooked from the very beginning of each book and just adore them.
So, if you've not read any of her books I can't recommend them enough! And, don't forget to pre-order Goodbye, Perfect!
