I have the lovely author Carmel Harrington on my blog today with her dreamcast for her new book EVERY TIME A BELL RINGS!
An angel gets its wings…
Belle has taken all the Christmas decorations down. This year they won’t be celebrating.
As foster parents, Belle and Jim have given many children the chance of a happier start in life. They’ve loved them as if they were their own. They shouldn’t have favourites but little Lauren has touched their hearts. And now her mother is well enough to take her back and Belle can’t bear the loss.
Hence, Christmas is cancelled.
So when Jim crashes his car one icy December night, after an argument about Lauren, Belle can only blame herself. Everything she loves is lost. And Belle finds herself standing on The Ha’Penny Bridge wishing she had never been born.
But what happens to a Christmas wish when an angel is listening…
Will Belle realise, before it’s too late, that her life is the most wonderful life of all?
Dream film cast for ETABR
I don’t think I could convey how unbelievably exciting it would be if Every Time A Bell Rings were to hit the big or small screen. Picking the right cast would be such a tough thing to do though, wouldn’t it? Because getting the right chemistry between Belle and Jim would be so important.
I don’t think any author hasn’t wasted many an hour daydreaming about their novels being made into a Hollywood blockbuster. And I’m ready for any producer/director who wants to come knocking at my door. I’ll even make them a nice cuppa and they’ll be mince pies galore. I’ve changed my mind many times as to who should play the characters though. So many amazing actors and actresses out there. I love it when readers share their ideas on this very subject. Who would you chose?
Right now, today, if I had to suggest someone, here are a few that I think would do amazingly in the role!
She’s strong, yet vunerable. Excitable, loving, fun but sometimes morose. I think Karla Crome from You, Me and the Apocolypse would be amazing! Or Ruth Negga from Love Hate, who wowed me with her performance in that series.
Now, I could think of half a dozen who would pull this Irish old school charmer off. I just saw Domhnall Gleeson give an amazing performance in Brooklyn and as I watched him, I thought, you’re my Jim Looney!
Equally, I think Colin O’Donoghue, from Once Upon A Time, or the Fassbender, who needs no introduction would be incredible. You see, so many to choose from!
I have to admit, I’ve always had Emma Thompson in mind here. She’d need padding, but she’s such a warm, emotive actress, I could see her doing amazing things in the role. I’ve never seen Emma give a bad performance, it’s just not possible!
