My review

~I was sent a copy from the publishers - all opinions are my own~

I give it - 5/5

My review - I'm not saying I cried at this book...I'm lying, I did, I cried mostly towards the end as I wasn't expecting certain things and this book filled me with so much emotion that I just had to let it all out.

I've read a few books by C.J but, this has to be my favourite book she's written so far and possibly one of my favourite books of 2016. It was gripping, it had my heart racing and of course I cried. I didn't know what to expect when going into this book, I had seen a few tweets around twitter from my friends saying how they couldn't believe what happened and how it was heartbreaking.

And boy, they where not wrong.

This book is about the fearless five. We start off with our main character Ella. She is telling the story, to who, we don't know yet and it starts of with a dead body being found. Then, it jumps back before that happens and talks about the events leading up to that. The Fearless Five where Ella, Max, Zane, Fallon and Corey. They where the best of friends growing up until Max's sister died and it basically tore them apart. She had a big impact on all of them but after her death they all went their separate ways beside form Ella and Max. They started dating at the age of 13 and now they are all 17.

Max wants to go to the next stage in their relationship and have sex. Ella thinks she's ready but, every time they try to she freaks out. Max just thinks she is scared of sex but Ella is keeping a big secret from him.

They run into Corey, who is getting bullied by Zane and they go to Fallon's house who has a big surprise for them. Before they know it, they are friends again, beside from Zane, and they decide to get revenge on the people who have ever been mean to them. But, this group of friends are hiding secrets from each other. Secrets that they know they need to tell and talk about but they won't. Will keeping the secrets be dangerous? And whose body is that washed ashore? And why shouldn't some of these characters trust the people they most look up too?

I literally can't cope with how perfect this book was. This book had so many topics that are a great thing to have and talk about in YA books as it really opens people's eyes when reading. This is a dark book. It does have it's wonderful moments, when they are all together and having fun but the fun can only last a short time. This book has drama, coming to terms with your sexuality, abuse, teen pregnancy and whole lot more. There is also some scenes that just make you want to wrap these characters up and tell them it will be okay.

Another wonderful, heartbreakingly beautiful book by C.J. She really knows how to grip the reader from the beginning with her writing. If you're going to read this book, and I think you should because not only is it fantastic but, it is also an important read, then go into this book straight away. I read it from the beginning to the end without stopping. I had so many questions but I wasn't prepared emotionally for the answers.

A lot of praise for C.J.
