ONE SPARK WILL RISE Nina Kane was born to be an exorcist. And since uncovering the horrifying truth-that the war against demons is far from over-seventeen-year-old Nina and her pregnant sister, Mellie, have been on the run, incinerating the remains of the demon horde as they go. In the badlands, Nina, Mellie, and Finn, the fugitive and rogue exorcist who saved her life, find allies in a group of freedom fighters. They also face a new threat: Pandemonia, a city full of demons. But this fresh new hell is the least of Nina's worries. The well of souls ran dry more than a century ago, drained by the demons secretly living among humans, and without a donor soul, Mellie's child will die within hours of its birth. Nina isn't about to let that happen ...even if it means she has to make the ultimate sacrifice.

There's no turning back...In the town of New Temperance, souls are in short supply and Nina should be worrying about protecting hers. Yet she's too busy trying to keep her sister Mellie safe. When Nina discovers that Mellie is keeping a secret that threatens their existence, she'll do anything to protect her. Because in New Temperance, sins are prosecuted as crimes by the brutal church. To keep them both alive, Nina will need to trust Finn, a mysterious fugitive who has already saved her life once. Wanted by the church and hunted by dark forces, Nina knows she needs Finn and his group of rogue friends. But what do they need from her in return?

Rachel Vincent is a former English teacher and an eager champion of the Oxford comma. She shares her home in Oklahoma with two cats, two teenagers, and her husband, who’s been her # 1 fan from the start. Rachel is older than she looks and younger than she feels, and she remains convinced that writing about the things that scare her is the cheapest form of therapy—but social media is a close second.

~I was sent an ecopy from the publishers-all opinions are my own~

I give it - 5/5

My review
- At first, I was sad that this was only a duelolgy. But, after reading THE FLAME NEVER DIES has made me really happy that there will only be two books. I feel Rachel has ended it perfectly. I would like to know what happens to some certain characters after the ending but she ended it perfectly and I am really in the mood to re-read both of these books again.

Rachel is a fantastic writer. They why she describes people and locations and things happening are just so fantastic that I was sucked into this book from the beginning. She writes beautifully and I cannot wait to read more of her books.

I won't spoil these books if you've never read them but if you haven't, YOU NEED TOO! They are fantastic and I have to say THE FLAME NEVER DIES has to be my favourite of the two. I loved the first one but the second one was just brilliant. It was filled with drama, relationships, darkness, love and A LOT of twist and turns that just made this book for me. Nina has a lot to deal with in this book after the aftermath of the first book and so we follow her and her friends as they have to lay low and protect themselves from what happened. Some parts had me gasping others, had me wanting to reach into the book and protecting these characters.

It would be amazing if she carried on with this series but it ended perfectly! I wouldn't say no though if she decides to write about certain characters in the future!
