Think you know Charlotte, Emily & Anne? Think again. Samantha Whipple is the last remaining descendent of the illustrious Bronte family, of Wuthering Heights and Jane Eyre fame. After losing her father, a brilliant author in his own right, it is up to Samantha to piece together the mysterious family inheritance lurking somewhere in her past - yet the only clues she has at her disposal are the Bronte's own novels. With the aid of her handsome but inscrutable Oxford tutor, Samantha must repurpose the tools of literature to unearth an untold family legacy, and in the process, finds herself face to face with what may be literature's greatest secret.

My review

~I was sent a copy to review, this in no way affects my opinion~

I give it
- 5/5

My review - So, I have been in the biggest of reading slumps for quite a while now, and when I picked this book up I didn't read any reviews about it as I just wanted to jump right into it and I was not disappointed!

And it brought me out of my reading slump, so win-win!

I don't know what it was about this book that I just loved, maybe the writing, how Catherine's writing just flowed naturally and it was just so beautifully written. Maybe it was the main character, Samantha who was very quick-witted and I really loved reading about her. There was a lot about this book that I just loved and I need everyone to read it and fall in love with this book like did.

I was gripped from the very start, whilst I was on my way to work and I didn't want to put it down until I finished it.

In this story we meet Samantha Whipple, she has just moved to Oxford Uni in the UK from America after her father passes away, because they are overflowing with students she has to stay in the very top of the building in this creepy, damp room. People double take at her name and try to get her to talk about the Bronte sisters before they do so they can start to ask questions about them, safe to say, she's a little bored of all that now. Samantha is very awkward but that just made me love her more.

What I really loved about this book is reading more about the Bronte sisters, about their family life, also all the literary discussions where so enjoyable!

All in all, this book was fantastic! It wasn't fast paced but that's what's great about this book, you just get swept away to Oxford with Samantha and follow her Bronte journey.
