Hope dreams of working backstage in a theatre, and she's determined to make it without the help of her famous costume-designer mum. So when she lands an internship on a major production, she tells no one. But with a stroppy Hollywood star and his hot young understudy upstaging Hope's focus, she's soon struggling to keep her cool...and her secret.
Today, I am really excited to be part of the Theatrical blog tour. It was a wonderful book and one I can't recommend enough for the people who love going the theatre and love watching shows.
I remember going to watch theatre shows with my school and I've only really been to see a few shows with my family. But, one play I ADORE and I think everyone will agree is Hamilton. I remember when the soundtrack came out and I instantly obsessed and then when it came over to the UK by boyfriend got me tickets for my birthday and I saw it in Feb and it was everything. It was also my boyfriends first theatre show. The place was buzzing with excitement and this show really brought all these people together. We cheered together, laughed together and cried together and it just shows how magical and wonderful it is. I plan on seeing a lot more shows in the future but, this play stood out to me as after listening to the soundtrack for over a year it just blew out my exceptions.
Let me know you're favourite theatre memory!
~I was sent a copy from the publishers-all opinions are my own~
I give it - 5/5
My review - So, you can tell from above that I love the theatre and this book really shows the ins and outs of the theatre. It is wonderful and another fantastic book from Maggie. You are instantly gripped from the beginning and you will feel like you are part of the whole production.
This book shows all the hard work that goes into a show. All the little details that brings it together to make the show and I think this book really represented the theatre well!
Hope is a wonderful main character. I was rooting for her the whole time in this book. She gets an internship at Earl's Theatre. She is part of the production for Piecekeepers which, is one of the most anticipated theatre production for that year. The director is very popular and it also might be starring a Hollywood star...
Hope is just so great. I really love reading about her story, her friendships, her relationship with her family. She has a great friendship with Priya and George. They seem to fit really well together and I love her interactions with her family.
Maggie writing is so captivating in this book. If you've not really ever been the theatre or want to know more about it I can't recommend this book enough. The descriptions, the secrets, the way it makes you feel like you are part of the production and visiting the set. Maggie has done an amazing job with every little theatre detail in this book.
This book is perfect for theatre lovers. Full of friendship, romance, secrets, passion and of course the theatre! (Also, George who is my favourite character!)
Another fantastic book from Maggie which has to be one of my favourites of this year!
