She's used to faking it. Now it's time to get real.

It all started with a faulty elevator...

When social media influencer Frankie Paulson's followers turn on her after an embarrassing public break-up with her perfect #couplegoals boyfriend, and she almost plummets to her death with two strangers in a faulty elevator, all she wants to do is hide.

A town with no internet is the ideal sanctuary, but Frankie has never done anything without sharing it on one of many apps she can't live without. After all, surely it's much more satisfying to take the perfect photograph of her breakfast than eat it?

When Fate, in the form of a new four-legged companion, plays a hand in keeping her in the town, Frankie starts to make tentative but genuine connections with the people she meets. Suddenly every rule she's been living by seems far less meaningful and she begins to wonder if her apparently #blessed life wasn't as real as she thought...

My review

I give it
- 5/5

My review - HUGE fan of Jo Watson and her books. I am always excited when she releases a new one and I really enjoyed this one.

Frankie loves social media and it loves her. Until a very public break up turns her fans against her and she feels like she is loosing a grip on reality. Social media is all she's known. She tweets, posts, snaps about her day and her lifestyle. But now she doesn't look forward to the tonnes of notifications. She needs to get away and a town that hasn't gotten any internet is the best option at the moment.

Can she survive this detox of social media and sharing everything she does online in this small town? Being without the internet and the life she thought was perfect is a big eye opener for her. Is she starting to realise that being #instafamous isn't the best idea? And living her life through a screen with people constantly commenting on everything about her? With her life changing day to day and her and her thoughts and life style changing because of the people she meets and the new life she is leading...is she ready to give up that role for good?

I loved this book. A really great insight to someone whose life is dependant on social media and the rise of their followers to then see it decrease and the downfall. Frankie is a fantastic character. She is so likeable and it shows how she gained her followers and fans. She is devastated by what happened with her ex, Kyle, and this change in scenery is something she needs.

She is about to have her eyes opened to the life she led, the person she was apparently in love with and who was suppose to be in love with her. Was it all a show for the cameras and the fans? Did she really love Kyle?

Reading about Frankie and her life was so fun. This book was fun and had me laughing but the ending is something that will grip your heart.

A new brilliant read from Jo!
