Still mourning the loss of her beloved grandmother and shaken by her mysterious, dying request to "find the baby", Abbi has arrived at uni to start her first year. But on her second day, she wakes up to a different world: 1983. That is just the first stop on Abbi's journey backwards through time. Will is a charming student from 1927 who travels forwards through time. When Abbi and Will meet in the middle, love adds another complication to their lives. Communicating across time through a buried time capsule, they try to decode the mystery of their travel, find the lost baby and plead with their champion, a kindly physics tutor, to help them find each other again ...even though the tutor gets younger each time Abbi meets him.

Favorite Scene from Waking in Time
By Angie Stanton
There are so many scenes from Waking in Time that are special to me, but my favorite is when the main character, Abbi, wakes in her dorm room and discovers that she’s travelled back in time again, and that her new roommate is her grandmother, an 18-year-old freshman. In present day, Abbi’s grandmother had recently passed away, so to set eyes on her again, but as a young, svelte college student, pretty much blows Abbi’s mind. After spending so much energy trying to get back to her own time, she now has a reason to try to stay where she is.
Another reason I love that scene is because Abbi learns that her grandmother is a bit of a wild thing. When a blizzard hits, she skips school to go sledding, she’s the life of the party at the campus bar, and she scandalously declares she’ll never marry but instead travel the world funded by rich boyfriends. Of course, Abbi knows exactly how her grandmother’s life turns out, and she cherishes every moment they have together, which usually means getting into trouble with the pesky house mother. But like all good things, their time together ends, leaving Abbi devastated, but it also opens up an entirely new world of challenges for her, as she tumbles further back in time.
I hope you get a chance to read Waking in Time and meet Abbi Thorp and her cast of intriguing friends as she continually falls through time and tries to unravel why this is happening to her and how to get home. There’s a brilliant professor who vows to get Abbi home, a dashing young time traveler who only jumps forward in time, and a mysterious buried treasure containing secret messages.

My review - I haven't read a time travelling story in awhile and I was so excited when this book arrived at my house. It was such a fun, fast paced story with a lot of family relationships and love all the way through it.
Abbi is starting college. Her grandmother has recently just passed away and she made her promise she would find something for her-Abbi has no idea how or where to start looking or even what her grandmother was going on about.
Until one day she wakes up and finds herself in a different time. Abbi has somehow gone back in time and she doesn't know how or why. But, the strange thing is how she keeps on going back in time and she has no idea how to stop it. She meets a professor who knows her and has been trying to help her stop whats going on and get back to her time.
As she goes back in time, Will, seems to be going forward in time and keeps bumping into Abbi. He doesn't know what's going on either but they join forces to help each other out. During their time travel, Abbi bumps into some family members, of course them not knowing who she is, and she starts to realise some things. Can and Abbi and Will take control of the time travel? And can Abbi find what her Grandmother has been looking for her entire life? Or will they just keep going through time?
I loved the strong family relationships in this book. Will misses his family so much and Abbi cared for her family and was really happy when she got to meet certain family members she hasn't before. I also loved her and Wills relationship as they both knew what was happening to each other and started to get closer....
I really enjoyed this book as it had everything from time travel, to romance and to heartbreak. It was just wonderful and everyone should give it a read.
