I give it - 5/5
My review - I loved this book. All of these books from Sandhya have been some of my favourites and I really enjoyed this one and the element of enemies to lovers. I love the characters, the story and just everything about this book and Sandhya writes some of the best romance books that I just always love.
In this book we follow Pinky. She loves to stand out, with different colours in her hair, the clothes she wears and the guys she dates but, she has a heart of gold. She has always loved to help sick and abandoned animals.
Pinky is spending the summer with her family at their lake house in Cape Cod and compared to her perfect cousin she feels like she has accomplished nothing and her mother never approves of any the choices she makes or the boys she dates. So, she has an idea, to date the perfect boy that would show her parents she can make good choices and to basically rub it in their faces.
So we meet Samir. He has his days planned out by detail every day and when his internship falls through his summer seems to be going down hill until he gets a text from Pinky. To be her fake boyfriend she will get him an internship with her mothers firm and he can't say no to this deal.
The summer is hot and things start to change for our two characters. Samir makes the perfect impression to her family and every is very happy with him beside from Pinky who keeps butting heads with Samir. Things are about to change this summer for the both of them and maybe even for the best?
I adored this book. I love Pinky. She is not perfect but she is so outspoken, she won't let anyone tell her what to do and she always fights for what she believes in. She doesn't see eye to eye with her mother a lot and vice versa.
Samir is so sweet. From being home-schooled and now wanting to go to public school and has his life planned out he has never thrown caution to the wind and when he spends the summer with Pinky he starts to realise that you can't live your life by following a list of day to day moments and miss what is right in front of you.
Sandhya has written one of my favourite books of this year and I really enjoyed every second off it. It was so fun, I loved the characters and it is perfect for summer!
