The house has soft, purple wisteria twining around the door. You step inside.
The hall is cool after the hot summer's day. The welcome is kind, and always warm.
Yet something makes you suspect life here can't be as perfect as it seems.
After all, the brightest smile can hide the darkest secret.
But wouldn't you pay any price to have a glorious place like this?
Welcome to Winterfold.
Martha Winter's family is finally coming home.
I give it - 5/5
My review - This has to be one of the best stories I have read this year (considering it's the first month of 2015, this book will be hard to beat).
Harriet is such an amazing author that I was addicted from the very first page.
What got me into this story was the synopsis, 'The day Martha Winter decided to tear apart her family began like any other day.' Because that got me questioning already what was going to happen, why did she decide to tear apart her family? And I'm so glad I read this book because I got to find out what was happening and it was so shocking.
This story is basically about a family who are very well known but keep secrets from each other and then finally everything is out in the open, some make matters worse, some make matters better.
This story had me gripped from start to finish that I didn't want it to end at all! The characters where fantastic and how they grew in time.
Well done to Harriet for writing such a spectacular story that I cannot wait to read more from her!
