I give it - 5/5
My review - Maria has done it again! I read her previous trilogy, The Chronicles Of Ixia, and fell in love instantly and then I found out about this book. I love Maria's style of writing, it really makes the story more gripping.
I really enjoyed this story and all the characters, you know a story is good when it has you loving even the bad characters. This story made laugh, gasp and even shed a tear, it is so fantastically written!
I love fantasy stories, I love how Maria basically made up this entire world and wrote such a brilliant story!
I really enjoyed Avry's character in the book. She was so strong minded and was able to stick up for herself and even though she was strong in the beginning she was able to grow throughout the story and I love character growths.
What I loved about this story was how it went straight into the story-line, after a few chapters you basically get to know about the main characters and what they need to do.
I have to admit one of my favourite quotes from this book was, 'Kerrick was as subtle as a thunderstorm,' I laughed way too much at that.
Kerrick was such a fantastic character, he's such an arse in the beginning but you can't not love him and I loved his pride and his commitment to his plan.
All in all this was such a fantastic fantasy story that had me gripped from the first page and once I started it I couldn't put it down at all, I cannot wait to read the next book and read more about Avry!
