NOTHING IS AS IT SEEMS...
Blythe, a sixteen-year-old Kansas schoolgirl is abducted and kept in an abandoned silo by a survivalist, who is
convinced that the world is about to end.
Struggling to survive, crushed by loneliness and the terrifying madness of her captor, Blythe resists the temptation to give up. Nothing, however, prepares her for the burden of having to raise a child in confinement.
Just when Blythe starts to believe that she may be confined to the silo for life, their lives are ambushed by one event that is at once promising and devastating...
THINK YOU KNOW WHAT'S GOING TO HAPPEN? YOU REALLY DON'T...
Riveting and unforgettable, this is a beautifully written and compelling tale of survival, reinvention, and hope.
I give it - 5/5
My review - I was in a reading slump for the most of January and then I started Above and I just could not put it down!
I really wanted to know what was happening, why he kidnapped her and what was just going on and I was so surprised and I like when a book surprises me.
Isla has written such a wonderful book, that had me captivated from the very first chapter.
The book jumps right into the plot and it was really intriguing and very haunting! It was such a strange story that had me reading until the very end to find out what was happening and I'm so glad I read this story, I love stories that give me the chills.
It had so many twist and turns that I couldn't keep up, I did tear up a few times but it was such a fantastic story that I wish there was more too it!
I really enjoyed Blythes character, as she tried to do what she could in that situation and she was just trying to be strong all that time.
I won't spoil it for anyone as this story was brilliant and I need to read more from Isla.
It was so shocking that I was shouting OMG a lot, but well done to Isla for keeping me on my toes whilst reading!
I recommend this book to everyone! Gah I can't get over it all!
