I give it - 4/5
My review - This is the first Katy Cannon book I've read and I can't wait to read some of her others! I really loved this book. It had me gripped from the beginning and I just couldn't put it down. It felt like I was on the road trip with them.
Megan is dealing with some family problems. After loosing someone close to her, she has to deal with her parents trying to control her life. She wants to be a photographer but her parents want her to go to Uni but, she has other plans and she won't stop until she gets her way.
Elliott is dealing with grief. His father is in jail and his family is barely making ends meet. His plans have changed for his future and he isn't really keen on applying to universities. But, then Megan comes into his life. They use to be best friends but drifted when they where getting older.
Megan will inherit a flat in London when she's 21 OR if she's married. Which ever comes first. Megan knows there is one place in the UK you can get married without your parents consent so she ask Elliott to marry her and they can both get out of their town and start their future.
Watch as Megan and Elliott plan and go on this road trip. Will they both confess what is holding them back and what Elliot has been hiding from Megan? Or will they get stopped before they even get there and have to live the life that has been laid out in front of them?
I loved this story. I love the connection between Megan and Elliott. He is willing to do this for Megan as he is keeping something from her. And plus, getting to hang out with his childhood friend again. Megan is trying to tell her parents her plans but they don't want to listen and decide her future for her.
I also love Sean, Elliotts brother and Becca, Megans best friend! I kind of want a book from their POV....just saying.
A brilliant book about going for what you want in life, even when there are obstacles in the way, you will do what you can to get the future you want.
