My review - I think this has became one of my favourite books of 2015 so far.
What I really enjoyed about this story is that it reminded me so much of my first festival with my best friend.
Bands, alcohol and boys.
So I really related to this story a lot when reading it and I think that is why I enjoyed it a lot.
I loved the main two characters, Kaz and Ruby. Both best friends and both dealing with ex-boyfriends.
I like that it goes back and forth between their POVs in the story, so we get to know what each of them is thinking during a certain time.
Kaz is still in love with her ex-boyfriend Tom, so when she finds out he is also going the festival she basically dresses herself up in case she runs into him.
Ruby can't deal with Kaz going on and on about her ex, after he broke her heart, so this festival for her is to get away with her best friend and her brother who is leaving for Australia for a year, and of course not having to deal with her ex Stu, who is also at the festival.
This story is about two best friends who are hoping for a good time at a festival but instead have to deal with their exes, and their friendship is tested.
I really adored this story and I need more. I want more from Kaz and Ruby, I would love to know what happens when they get home from the festival, when and if they attend sixth form.
Non Pratt is a brilliant writer, I was hooked from the very first page and didn't put it down once.
When Olivia opens the bathroom door, the last thing she expects to see is her best friend Nicola giving birth on the floor and to say Nicola is surprised is an understatement. She's not ready to be a mum, and she needs Olivia's help. But Olivia has her own problems specifically her bullying boyfriend, Jonty, and keeping an eye on younger sister Alice. And then there's Nicola's friend Ben, who's struggling with secrets of his own.
My review - I really enjoyed this story. I picked it up yesterday and didn't put it down once until I finished it.
I like how there is 5 different characters, Olivia, Nicola, Jonty, Ben and Alice and they all have their own part in the book which I thought was great, reading from all their POVs during this event and the events it sets in motion.
We start with Olivia who is having a birthday party, her friend Nicola has locked herself in the bathroom as she is giving birth. She didn't know she was pregnant so it was a big shock for all of them.
Olivia not only has to deal with the fact that her friend now has a child but her boyfriend Jonty who is very abusive to her.
After Nicola gives birth it sets a whole lot of stuff in motion, just from her giving birth.
I really enjoyed this story as I liked reading about all the characters and how they differ from each other. Alice was my favourite, as Olivias 11 year old sister, she is known as the weird girl at school who has an imaginary farm and I want her to be my best friend.
The end of the story had me in shock, I was not expecting what happened to of happened at all. But I liked the twist and I feel like it made the story that more fantastic.
The only reason I have given this story 4 stars is mainly because I feel like there needed to be more at the end, I like how it ended but I wish there would have been a bit more with what happened at the end. Or even a sequel to this book as I would love to read more about these characters and what is going to happen next.
Lisa is a great writer and she had me gripped from the very beginning.
This book is out on the 2nd July and I recommend it to everyone!
When the Princess of Nova accidentally poisons herself with a love potion meant for her crush, she falls crown-over-heels in love with her own reflection. Oops. A nationwide hunt is called to find the cure, with competitors travelling the world for the rarest ingredients, deep in magical forests and frozen tundras, facing death at every turn. Enter Samantha Kemi - an ordinary girl with an extraordinary talent. Sam's family were once the most respected alchemists in the kingdom, but they've fallen on hard times, and winning the hunt would save their reputation. But can Sam really compete with the dazzling powers of the ZoroAster megapharma company? Just how close is Sam willing to get to Zain Aster, her dashing former classmate and enemy, in the meantime?
My review - I adore this story! From the very first page I was hooked and didn't put it down until I finished it.
I really loved the story line. I think that's what got me wanting to read this story and the plot was so interesting that I just had to get myself a review copy.
The story is about a young girl named Sam. She is an ordinary, she has no powers but is very talented when it comes to potions. Her families buisness use to be thriving but now they are lucky to get a customer.
Then we have Princess Evelyn, she makes her own love potion to get Zain to fall in love with her, but instead she falls in love with herself and everything is set into motion.
Zain is the son of Zoro Aster, who owns ZoroAster Corp who are the top synth manufacturer in Nova.
Then the Wilde Hunt begins! Everyone is against each other to find the perfect antidote for the Princess before it becomes too late.
I love the character of Sam. She was such a interesting character, who had great character development and would do anything to help her family.
I also love that you got some chapters from Princess Evelyn, what she was going through when she took the potion and I think it was such a great addition to the story.
This has to be one of the best books I have read so far this year. It's so gripping and brilliant that I want more from these characters.
