Maria Lyon and Lily Boiten are their school's ultimate power couple-but one thing stands between them and their perfect future: campus superstar Delilah Dufrey. Golden child Delilah is a legend at exclusive Acheron Academy, and the presumptive winner of the distinguished Cawdor Kingsley Prize. But Delilah doesn't know that Lily and Maria are willing to do anything-absolutely anything-to unseat Delilah for the scholarship. After all, it would lock in Maria's attendance at Stanford-and assure her and Lily four more years in a shared dorm room. Together, Maria and Lily harness the dark power long rumored to be present on the former plantation that houses their school. But when feuds turn to fatalities, and madness begins to blur the distinction between what's real and what's imagined, the girls must attempt to put a stop to the chilling series of events they've accidentally set in motion.

My review

~I was sent a copy to review-all opinions are my own~

I give it - 5/5

My review - I didn't think this book was going to be as creepy as it was. I was sure what to expect when going into this book but what I read wasn't what I expected-it was so much more, it was fantastic and so gripping and dark that I loved every second of it.

I haven't read any of Robin's books before and I can tell I am defiantly going to be picking up more of her books. This book is the perfect read for Halloween. It is super creepy and it makes you not want to go to a boarding school that's for sure.

In this story we start of with Maria, Lily and Brandon playing with an Ouija board-little do they know that the events that happened that night will set of a chain reaction. Weird things start to happen to all of them. Maria just wants to finally win over Delilah, the schools most popular girl and her and Lily start to plan things to make sure Maria wins. But soon Maria starts to see things and starts wishing for things to happen with the help of these ghostly figures, little does she know she doesn't really know what she's asking for and all things come with a price.

This story has a lot of love, death, creepiness and a lot of regret. These characters all want something and are trying to prove something but things get in the way and is winning really all that when you have to give up your life? This is a retelling of Macbeth and I so enjoyed it! It has LGBT themes that really fits in with the story. A couple who have to hide their relationship and another couple who are out but can't let their families back home know. Lily is afraid of what will happen to her when people find out but she is more afraid for Maria.

They have a connection and they always look out for each other but sometimes, especially in this book, other circumstances are too much for both of them and what is going on starts to take over Maria's life-can Lily save her before it's too late and Maria goes too far to win?

This book was crazy good and I cannot get over how gripping it was. Straight from the beginning I was gripped and didn't put it down until I had finished it. It was that good and I am going to recommend it to everyone this month as it is the perfect creepy read for Halloween and I think everyone will enjoy it!
