We were trouble

Best friends Caddy and Rosie are inseparable. Their differences have brought them closer, but as she turns sixteen Caddy begins to wish she could be a bit more like Rosie - confident, funny and interesting. Then Suzanne comes into their lives: beautiful, damaged, exciting and mysterious, and things get a whole lot more complicated. As Suzanne's past is revealed and her present begins to unravel, Caddy begins to see how much fun a little trouble can be. But the course of both friendship and recovery is rougher than either girl realises, and Caddy is about to learn that downward spirals have a momentum of their own.

My review

~ I was sent a copy of this book from the publishers, this in no way affects my opinion~

I give it - 5/5 (more like a million out of 5)

My review - I can't stop thinking about this book at all, it was just so wonderful.

In this book we follow Caddy. She and Rosie have been best friends for years.
They both go to different schools and have different set of friends but they always spend time together. Then one day Rosie makes a new friend named Suzanne and brings her to meet Caddy and everything unravels from there. Suzanne is beautiful but also damaged and Caddy seems to get caught up in it all and it threatens the girls friendship.

This book is a lot more than friendship. It also talks about mental health, abuse, rebellion and so much more and Sara has done a brilliant job of putting it altogether in this heartbreakingly beautiful book.

What I loved about this story was that there was no romance. Yes, there was side topics of dating but that wasn't the main focus and it was refreshing to read.

This is a book the world needs. I have been looking for a book on friendship and this ticks all the boxes for me. It deals with female friendship and so much more, how certain things could possibly make you stronger and closer or break you.

This was a fantastic book from a debut author! This book had me laughing at parts and crying at others. I didn't put it down once until I finished it and even then I didn't want it to end. The friendship was amazing to read and the story was so realistic!

If you're looking for a beautiful story on brutally honest friendship then this is the book for you. It will have you laughing and feeling emotional.

Fantastic debut novel from Sara! Cannot wait to see what she writes next!!
