Boys are so much better in books. At least according to Merrilee Campbell, fifteen, who thinks real-life chivalry is dead and there'd be nothing more romantic than having a guy woo her like the heroes in classic stories. Then she, her best friend, Eliza, and her younger sister, Rory, transfer to Reginald R. Hero Prep--where all the boys look like they've stepped off the pages of a romance novel. Merri can hardly walk across the quad without running into someone who reminds her of Romeo.

When the brooding and complicated Monroe Stratford scales Merri's trellis in an effort to make her his, she thinks she might be Juliet incarnate. But as she works her way through her literature curriculum under the guidance of an enigmatic teacher, Merri's tale begins to unfold in ways she couldn't have imagined. Merri soon realizes that only she is in charge of her story. And it is a truth universally acknowledged that first impressions can be deceiving...

I give it
- 4/5

My review - Growing up I always said boys where better in books. Because sometimes they are. You will fall in love with a boy from a book and wonder why they don't exist in real life and this is what this book is about.

In this book we follow Merrilee. She has just transferred to a new school with her sister and BFF to Hero High. She has only ever went to all girl schools and now she is in a co-ed school she is ready to find someone she likes like the guys in the books she reads.

Can I also say, I went to an all girl school and this was me. I constantly read loads of teen romance books and when I went to collage that had guys in I think the books put my exceptions way too high.

She wants to have her heart skip a beat and swoon but before she knows it some of her book fantasies are coming true. Are things just as great as they appear in the books?

I loved this book. Merri was so relatable. She is every book lover. She always has her nose in books, head in the clouds, dreaming of these fantasies and these things usually make her a little messy, gets her into trouble as she enjoys reading too much. I also love the friendship in this book between Merri, her sisters and her BFF Eliza. These four girls together are just wonderful and have a really great time and that is something I really enjoyed about this book.

You need this book in your life and this version of Darcy.

Trust me.
