My review - This book is perfect to curl up with on a rainy day like this.
What would you do if an English Lord randomly turned up on your doorstep?
Charlie is staying at her late grandmothers homestead. She is looking after the place and sorting things out and trying to find homes for all the stray dogs her grandmother brought into the house and one of those dogs include one that has been hit by Bryn, the new Lord Carlisle. He brings the dog to the home in hope someone can take it to the vet as he doesn't want to miss his flight.
He fortunately stumbles upon Charlie's house and they are both relieved that the dog has been returned to the owner. During this time a storm hits and Bryn's car has a tree fall down on top of it. He has missed his flight and Charlie offers him a room for the night as the storm is still strong and he can deal with everything the next day.
There is an instant attraction between Charlie and Bryn but, she has no idea who Bryn is. With these two growing closer and the attraction growing stronger can these two whether the storm? Bryn is hiding some secrets from Charlie that could break these two for good. Is Bryn ready to let Charlie into his secrets and his life?
Bryn is not a snob like most would think he would be. He is a gentleman, he cares and so down to earth. He adores dogs and sees the situation Charlie has been left in. After her grandmother died she's sad and angry with what has happened to her and Bryn is something different and a bright light in her life. Will these secrets stop what would be a happy ending for them both?
This a fun, light read that you can just get gripped from the beginning and not stop reading until the end. A wonderful romance story that has a little bit of drama but also has the wonderful dogs that I want and addresses social classes. A lovely, modern romance!
