I give it
- 5/5

My review - Wow, wow, wow! What a book. This book had me gripped from the beginning and now, I cannot wait for the second one. It was so wonderful, full of everything I love about a good fantasy and so much more. Sara Holland is a fantastic writer and she really knows how to grip the reader with this book.

In this book we meet Jules. Her and her father are behind on rent and the only way they can pay is by getting time taken from them to make iron coins. They can take days, months and years from people. Instead of her father loosing more time as he has not much left, Jules gets a job at Everless where all the rich live. They bleed the poor to keep themselves rich and live longer. Her father doesn't want her to go working there as they use to live there years ago but, something happened that made them leave. Jules knows they need the money.

When she's there she starts to figure things out. She meets her old friends, who just happen to be the Gerling family she is working for. Roan and Liam are two brothers and both different. She remembers them from when she was little and she is a little taken a back after seeing them again. In the estate things start to happen. She starts to remember things from when she was little, and the secrets that lay within Everless. Is she ready for what she is about uncover? Or will the truth shock her? With time being on her hands she needs to figure out whats going on and figure out what to do before it's too late.

I so loved this story. I really enjoyed it all. I couldn't put it down until I finished it. I really love the world building and the way the story was set. The plot kept me on my toes and it was full of twist, drama, romance and so much more.

I cannot wait to see what happens in the second one and see what happens to Jules!

A brilliant first book to what I can tell will be a fantastic fantasy series!
