Fierce Fragile Hearts is the stunning companion novel to Sara Barnard's YA bestseller Beautiful Broken Things, which was selected for the inaugural Zoella Book Club. It is about leaving the past behind, the friends who form your future, and learning to find love, in all its forms.
Two years after a downward spiral took her as low as you can possibly go, Suzanne is starting again. Again. She's back in Brighton, the only place she felt she belonged, back with her best friends Caddy and Rosie. But they're about to leave for university. When your friends have been your light in the darkness, what happens when you're the one left behind?

I give it - 5/5
My review - Another fantastic novel from Sara Barnard.
Sara has such a way with her writing that just captures the reader from the first page and it won't let you go until you've finished it. I always get excited when a new book from Sara comes out and especially as this one is a companion novel to Beautiful Broken Things and we get to hear from those characters again and I just enjoyed every second of it.
In Beautiful Broken Things we followed Caddy and Rosie and the new girl, Suzanne, who comes and changes things up and now in this book it's been 2 years and Suzanne is on her way back to Brighton. She is starting again and ready to try again. She is back in the place that made her so happy and to the friends she left behind but, Caddy and Rosie are now off to University and Suzanne isn't sure what to do with herself.
I just adored reading from Suzanne's POV and I just felt for her so much. Sara did an amazing job with this character and showing the pain, the heartache and the healing she goes through and I think she did it brilliantly. Suzanne has been through a lot in her past and now she is learning to be independent. She is trying to create a happier life for herself with her friends and even a new love.
I love coming back to old characters and seeing where they are a few years later. These girls are all grown up and Suzanne wants the best for herself and she does hit a few brick walls but watching her grow through this story was just beautiful.
This is the perfect follow up to Beautiful Broken Things and I really enjoyed reading about Suzanne and it just made me love her more. She is a fantastic character, she's flawed but at the end of the day she just wants the best in life.
A new fantastic book from Sara that has to be one of my favourites from her. The raw emotion, the characters, just the way Sara has written this book is just beautiful and I can't recommend this book enough!
