Five Feet Apart review

Can you love someone you can never touch?

Stella Grant likes to be in control - even though her totally out of control lungs have sent her in and out of the hospital most of her life. At this point, what Stella needs to control most is keeping herself away from anyone or anything that might pass along an infection and jeopardize the possibility of a lung transplant. Six feet apart. No exceptions.

The only thing Will Newman wants to be in control of is getting out of this hospital. He couldn’t care less about his treatments, or a fancy new clinical drug trial. Soon, he’ll turn eighteen and then he’ll be able to unplug all these machines and actually go see the world, not just its hospitals.

Will’s exactly what Stella needs to stay away from. If he so much as breathes on Stella she could lose her spot on the transplant list. Either one of them could die. The only way to stay alive is to stay apart. But suddenly six feet doesn’t feel like safety. It feels like punishment.

What if they could steal back just a little bit of the space their broken lungs have stolen from them? Would five feet apart really be so dangerous if it stops their hearts from breaking too?

What a beautiful story.
This was a quick read for me but had such a impact and it was just wonderful, heartbreaking and I really love the way the author has written this lovely story.

This book is about 3 different people who are dealing with Cystic Fibrosis. They are all dealing with it in there own different way but, are all at a point where they can't be near other people and need a lung transplant. Stella, who lives by her strict schedule and doesn't really know how to live a life that she might not get to live much longer. Will wants to be free from this disease and can't deal with the fight anymore. He can't wait to be 18 and go travelling and see a world that he hasn't seen before. And then we have Poe who is alone. With his parents far away he tends to push away everyone who tries to get close to him.

These 3 get close but with this disease they can never comfort each other when they cry, hug each other or even give each other a pat on the back. They need to stay 6 feet apart from each other as if they get close it could cause a reaction and that is something they don't want as it can be fatal.

This story is told from the POV of Will and Stella and it was really interesting reading it from their minds and getting inside their heads to see their thoughts and how they are feeling during certain situations.

This book will get you invested in the characters that you will need to have tissues ready beside you as the writing, the plot and the characters will have you tearing up throughout this story. It was really well done this story and I just enjoyed every second of it.
