'Wise and wondrous' - Holly Black Garth Nix is on hilarious form as he spins his very own fairy tale, featuring Princess Anya, who, with her loyal dog, must embark on a terribly important (capital Q) Quest to acquire the ingredients for a reversal lip balm, the vital item needed to change a frog back to a prince ...oh, and save her kingdom from her villainous step(step)father.
~I was sent a copy from the publishers-all opinions are my own~
I give it - 4/5
My review - This is my first ever Garth Nix book-I know right? I've always been tempted to pick up his books but never have and then, I got sent his new book Frogkisser and was immediately gripped!
I can see why Nix is so popular. He really knows how to tell a story. How to make the reader believe that they are part of the story with all the descriptions and characters.
This story is perfect for younger readers. Especially for people who want to get into fantasy but don't want to jump right into it. This story is really funny and I just love how it flowed altogether.
In this we follow Princess Anya and we follow her as she goes on a quest to find an ingredients for a lip balm to kiss some frogs to turn them back into princes. Of course things are thrown in her way and with an evil stepfather can she help the frogs and save her kingdom before it's too late?
I just really enjoyed this story. It was funny and I enjoyed following Anya on her journey. It felt like I was apart of it, helping her find the ingredients.
I will definitely be picking up Garth's other books. He is really talented and knows how to tell a story and if his books are just as good as this one then I think I might have found a new favourite author.
