I give it - 5/5
My review - What a wonderful start to a new trilogy! I was gripped from the very beginning of this book and couldn't put it down until I had finished it and now, I badly need the next one. I also love Arcus, just saying.
Ruby is a Fireblood. She has been hidden away since she was born as the Frostbloods rule. Being hidden away means she can't use her power or learn to control it. So, when things go bad she doesn't know how to stop her power from getting out of control and hurting people. One day she is given the option to learn how to use her fire in exchange for her doing something for them. She has the chance to get revenge for what happened to her mother and her village with the help of Arcus, a Frostblood who she just loves to annoy over and over again, but, what is Arcus hiding from her? Would this change everything for Ruby? Can she defeat the darkness before it gets her?
I just loved this book so much. Ruby was a fantastic character. It was great seeing how much she grew in this and I can't wait to see where the next books take her. She is very strong willed and knows what she is fighting for. She tries her hardest and she wants to avenge her mothers death. I loved how she sassed back Arcus. They have a crazy relationship that I just adored.
Ruby is a girl living in a Frostblood world. She needs to learn how to survive and how to use her fire to help people and maybe, just maybe, things will go back to how they where. When Frostbloods and Firebloods lived together and Ruby won't have to keep her fire a secret and she won't be someone who people are looking for because of her Fire.
A brilliant start to a new trilogy I am sure I am going to love. This was a great start to the trilogy and I can't wait to see what Elly does with the other books and I can't wait to see Ruby grow more and more stronger with her fire....and Arcus, love him.
