The Girl Of Ink & Stars by Kiran Millwood-Hargrave
Forbidden to leave her island, Isabella dreams of the faraway lands her cartographer father once mapped. When her friend disappears, she volunteers to guide the search. The world beyond the walls is a monster-filled wasteland - and beneath the dry rivers and smoking mountains, a fire demon is stirring from its sleep. Soon, following her map, her heart and an ancient myth, Isabella discovers the true end of her journey: to save the island itself.

I give it - 5/5
My review - Well, haven't I just been on a beautifully written journey.
First things first THE DESIGN OF THIS BOOK! The pages, the maps are just WOW so, so beautiful! I loved that there was a different map on each section, they where amazing and really added to the story.
In this story we follow Isabella. she lives with her father who is a cartographer (which is the study and making of maps) and she dreams of visiting the maps he's created. One day, a friend of hers from school goes missing in a very bad part, a place where she shouldn't of gone. She she decides to be in charge of the search to find her friend but there are things beyond the walls, things Isabella could of never imagined, can she save the island?
I loved this book. I was gripped from the very first beginning and I didn't stop reading until the very end of the book. I didn't want the story to end at all to be honest. The whole world building was fantastic! Kiran has done a brilliant job of bringing the characters and world to life and I can't recommend this book enough.
This book mainly focuses on friendship and family, which are two themes I love to read about. Isabella has to deal with a lot in this book, and I don't want to spoil this story for anyone so you all need to go pick it up to see how this story goes and fall in love with it like I did.
A fantastic debut novel from Kiran and I cannot wait to see what she writes next!
