I give it - 5/5
My review - This sequel was EVERYTHING! I read it last night and stayed up to finish it and I haven't stopped thinking about it.
If you haven't read A Good Girls Guide To Murder, the first book, you need too. It was one of my favourite books of 2019 and I have been looking forward to this sequel since it got announced and it was just everything I wanted and more and it was full of twists and turns and the characters I adored from the first book it was fantastic.
In this book we follow Pip. She has finished up the case from the first book and every one knows about her and what she did. She has said she doesn't want to investigate again. How it hurt not only her but the people around her, her detective days are done. But, one day her friend comes to her, someone close is missing, someone close to Pip and she knows what she needs to do. She wants to help as the police said they won't. She wants to do what she can to figure out how they went missing and why.
Things aren't as always as they seem in Little Kilton. Everyone may know everyone but not everyone knows things about everyone. A town that was torn apart and brought back together because of a murder now has to deal with someone going missing and people will lie to hide the truth. Pip is determined to figure out what happened to Jamie that night and to found out the truth but, along the way she is going to have to deal with a lot of truths and lies and a whole lot of twists and turns.
I love Pip. She wants to do what she can to help. She is exhausted after AGGGTM and you can see how much it took its toll on her but, she has her friends and family and Ravi. Pip doesn't want to do detective work anymore but what do you do when someone close goes missing and the police won't help? She is a very determined character who will not back down and I love that about her. She is one of my favourite main characters and I love the feeling that the reader is also on this investigation with her. Every time I thought I was right I was wrong and I loved it.
Ravi, still adorable, still wonderful. Love him. He is so caring, makes her laugh and will do whatever he can to help Pip and I love them.
This book was gripping from beginning to end. I was enthralled with the story and the characters and the mystery. This book will take you on a journey full of deceit, mystery and lies and it was amazing.
Holly Jackson is a fantastic author who really knows how to keep me guessing and will make the reader so captivated with the story you won't be able to put it down.
