It's the era of peace and love in the 1960s, but nothing is peaceful in Caroline's life. Since her beautiful older sister disappeared, fifteen-year-old Caroline might as well have disappeared too. She's invisible to her parents, who can't stop blaming each other. The police keep following up on leads even Caroline knows are foolish. The only one who seems to care about her is Tony, her sister's older boyfriend, who soothes Caroline's desperate heart every time he turns his magical blue eyes on her. Tony is convinced that the answer to Jess's disappearance is in California, the land of endless summer, among the street culture of runaways and flower children. Come with me, Tony says to Caroline, and we'll find her together. Tony is so loving, and all he cares about is bringing Jess home. And so Caroline follows, and closes a door behind her that may never open again, in a heartfelt thriller that never lets up.

I give it - 4/5

My review - I really, really enjoyed this story!

I hadn't really heard much about this book so I was going into the book blind and I am really glad I gave this book a chance, it was very gripping!

It did take me a few pages to get into the story but once I was, I was captivated and didn't want to stop reading until I found out what happened to Jess, Caroline's older sister. This was such a fantastic YA Thriller that I think everyone should give this book a read!

This book deals with every family's nightmare, a child going missing. Caroline usually accopmines Jess and her boyfriend Tony on their dates and one night Jess tells Caroline not to come along to this one, which leads to their father ranting and telling her she can't go, Caroline then goes up to talk to Jess but Jess is getting ready and tells her she has to go as she say's she has something serious to do. The next morning Jess isn't back and Caroline can't cover for her much longer before coming out to her parents to tell them about Jess's disappearance. Caroline then befriends Tony and Jess's friends she starts to uncover some unsettling secrets about her older sister.

This is a really great thriller that will have you guessing until the very end! I was surprised about the ending but it really did bring the whole story together and made this book really enjoyable for me. Emily has written such a fantastic book that I cannot wait to read more from her in the future.
