My review - This book was amazing.
This book is one of my favourites of the year. It is one of the best thrillers I've ever read and I just couldn't put it down. I don't recommend reading it late at night alone like I did but, it was worth it. It was so gripping from beginning to end and I just couldn't stop reading. I was intrigued by this story, the characters, the myths and the horror it was wonderful.
It is captivating and creepy and all around just amazing.
In this book we follow Lola Nox. She is the daughter of a famous horror filmmaker. This book really reminds me of 80s horror and it was wonderful. Lola has been brought up in the horror film business. She is used to everything scary but when her family is attacked she is sent to live with her grandmother at Harrow Lake and also this place is where one of her fathers films was filmed and one of his most popular.
There is something strange about this town. The locals celebrate this movie and the myth of the town but, something eerie is happening in this place. Could the thing the movie was based on actually be real?! What is happening to the people going missing? Lola does not want to be here one bit but something is always pulling her back to this place and to what is hiding beneath.
I just adored this book. The way this book had me creeping around corners and making sure nothing was behind me. Kat really pulled me into this book with these characters that I just couldn't stop reading.
One of the best thrillers of 2020. Get ready to be pulled into this story and beware of Mister Jitters.
