Lost and broken, Celaena Sardothien's only thought is to avenge the savage death of her dearest friend: as the King of Adarlan's Assassin, she is bound to serve this tyrant, but he will pay for what he did. Any hope Celaena has of destroying the king lies in answers to be found in Wendlyn. Sacrificing his future, Chaol, the Captain of the King's Guard, has sent Celaena there to protect her, but her darkest demons lay in that same place. If she can overcome them, she will be Adarlan's biggest threat - and his own toughest enemy. While Celaena learns of her true destiny, and the eyes of Erilea are on Wendlyn, a brutal and beastly force is preparing to take to the skies. Will Celaena find the strength not only to win her own battles, but to fight a war that could pit her loyalties to her own people against those she has grown to love?

My review

I give it - 5/5

My review - Put a knife in me I am done.

This book was everything I wanted and more. I didn't think it would get better after CROWN OF MIDNIGHT - as you know, some series, they don't seem to get better as the series goes on-BUT this one just blew it out of the water for me. I was so gripped, it was unreal. This book is just under 600 pages and I sat there and just read it all in one sitting. I had to see what was going to happen and it was just fantastic.

After the ending of CROWN OF MIDNIGHT we follow Celaena as she is still mad and sad over what happened before. She is in a different place and does not care about anyone or the jobs she has to do. But, she is about to go on a whole new journey, after years of hiding her true self, can she reveal who she really is?

I really liked that it wasn't just Celaena we where following in this story. We got to see what Chaol and Dorian where getting up to, still love Chaol. We got introduced to some new characters - Manon, Rowan and Aedion. I have heard some things about these characters so I was very happy when they got introduced and I got to read about them and who they where and I cannot wait to read more about Manon actually! She was a really interesting character and I can't wait to see where the next book takes her.

What I really loved about this book was the flashbacks into Celaena's past! From the first book you don't know anything about her past. But, with what we find out it made sense for the readers to find out about her past and what happened to her when she was younger.

This book actually killed me, some parts had me gasping, laughing, crying and I just couldn't cope, it was perfect. Friendships where broken, loyalties changed and our main girl has got something big to do and I can't wait to see her kick some ass.

I cannot wait to carry on with this series as it has became one of my all time favourite series and I love it so much.
