HOW DO YOU FIND WHERE YOU'RE GOING, IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHERE YOU'RE FROM . . .

Angie has always wanted to travel. But at twenty-seven, she has barely stepped outside the small mining town where she was born. Instead, she discovers the world through stories told to her by passing travellers, dreaming that one day she'll see it all for herself.

When her grandmother passes away, leaving Angie with no remaining family, she is ready to start her own adventures. Then she finds a letter revealing the address of the father she never knew, and realises instantly where her journey must begin: Italy.

As Angie sets out to find the truth – about her family, her past and who she really is – will mysterious and reckless Italian Alessandro help guide the way?

My review - I adore Paige Toon's books. She has written some of my favourites and is an author I know won't disappoint me. If You Could Go Anywhere was brilliant and wonderful and I just enjoyed every second of it.

Angie is our main character. Ever since she was little she has always asked people, if you could go anywhere where would you go? For her it was everywhere. She always wanted to travel around the world. She was always interested by the people coming to Coober Pedy who where from a different country. But, as the years passed she never left. Growing up with her grandparents, she started to look after them when she was older. After her grandfather died and her Grandmother was diagnosed with Alzheimers she decided to put her travelling on hold.

After her grandmother passes away she finds a letter. From her mother to her father. The father she has never met or known. She finds out that he is still alive in Italy and sets of on her first adventure.
In Italy she finds part of her family she has never known. Growing up with only her grandparents she is welcomed into this extended family and she gets to explore Italy whilst she is there.

Angie is so excited and nervous to met her father. She never knew her mother and wants to find out some more about her and about her father. She meets a bunch of new people, family and friends. She is wants to find out more about her family and possibly find out more about Alessandro, the cute Italian guy who is pretty reckless and leaves his job for 6 months of the year to go travelling.

Angie is ready to find out the truth about her mother and father and why she never got to know him and now that she has seen a little bit of the world is she ready to let go and finally do the travelling she has always wanted to do? Or is something calling her back home?

I really enjoyed this book. I love Angie. She did so much for her grandparents and deserves to give some time for herself and find herself. She is a wonderful character and I really enjoyed reading about her adventure.

A story about leaving home and finding your family. A book that will make you want to book a trip to Italy ASAP!

This sounds like a really happy book. Did it make you want to go travelling after?
