It Only Happens in the Movies
by
Holly Bourne

Picture

Bad boys turned good, kisses in the rain, climbing through bedroom windows... It only happens in the movies. When Audrey meets Harry, it’s the start of a truly cinematic romance – or is it? Audrey knows that Harry is every movie cliché rolled into one. But she still chooses to let him into her heart...

My review

I give it - 5/5

My review - Well, Holly Bourne has done it again.

She is my all time favourite author. I didn't think it could get any better and then, I read this book. I was instantly gripped from the beginning. She has this writing style that I just love.

I was so excited to see that she was bringing out a new book and the sound of this just made me need it more. As soon as I started reading it, I couldn't stop. I was intrigued and had to see where this story was going. It was fun, full of romance, drama, and so much more! And, also has that humour that Holly has in her books that I just love.

This book has everything you'd expect from Holly, the fun moments, the drama and also certain themes, like mental health, that are important to talk about in books and she really does it in a brilliant way.

In this book we meet Audrey. She has just broken up with her boyfriend, is distancing her from friends and her mother is dealing with some mental health problems. She is sick of cliches and gets a job at a cinema where she meets Harry as he works there. He loves films and really charming but is he putting up a facade?

I love Audrey how she is this amazing girl and so realistic. Her friends are so fantastic and we all need friends like that. This book talks about relationships and first times and it is done brilliantly. I feel teenagers would adore this book. It really deals with things that teenagers deal with and I so wish I had this when I was younger. The teenagers in this book are so realistic and go through things young people go through all the time and trying to deal with some of this stuff is tough for them and Holly has done brilliant way of showing that in this book.

Another knockout from Holly Bourne and I can't wait to see what she writes next. She really knows how to write about young people and it's easy to see why everyone loves her books.
