My review

~I was sent a copy from the publishers - all opinions are my own~

I give it-
4/5

My review - When you read the first book in a series that you love you're always left waiting for the sequel, I know they've got to get it all ready but, it's hard sometimes and I was really excited to get a bind up of the first 3 books in this series. The book is really big but when you think about it, it's 3 books in one. It was so easy to just read through all of it without waiting for the next book, to read straight through to the 3rd book and just be blown away by this series.

I adore these books. I hated having to put it down when I had to go to work, or sleep...
The story was gripping and very interesting. I really love the first book which is probably my favourite out of the 3. It introduced the world, the characters, the plot. I really like the writing and it was interesting to see where Philippa was going with it.

In this book we have Isolde, who is made to live in a nunnery whilst her brother is the one who inherits everything. Obviously, she's a little peeved at this. She wants to be independent but, she knows she mustn't act on it....yet.
Luca wants to be a priest but something happens and before he knows it he is part of the order of darkness who investigate dark occurrences and who does he have to check out? Isolde.

This is the start to a very interesting series. I don't really read a lot of historic fiction but, I enjoyed these books. It was interesting to see where Philippa was taken these characters and I believe this was her first YA stories and I thought it was pretty good. It had it's hint of YA but, also of the historic genre that mixed well together.

Cannot wait to read more from her!
