I give it - 5/5
My review - What a gritty, gripping story! A book that instantly has you questioning what happened between these three women and what is going to happen. These women are bound to each other. Friends in the beginning but, when something terrible happened 15 years ago at their boarding school they have to do everything they can to keep the secret and hope their past never catches up with them. Their friendship has grown bitter over the years but, they have to stick with each other in case one goes of the rails and wants to come clean.
Georgia, Nancy and Lila all meet at Georgia's house for a dinner with their partners. But, as the book goes on you find out more about each of these characters, their backstory, the past and what is going on right now. How, they've all grown to detest each other and how one tragic thing can change everyones lives. It was so interesting reading about each woman, at the boarding school and now at the dinner party. This dinner party is needed as one now wants to talk about what happened and they are hoping to talk about it over a 3 course dinner and keep their secret hidden and make sure no one ever finds out and they are willing to do anything to keep someones mouth shut.
An amazing book. It was intriguing, gripping, sinister and I just couldn't put it down! It is a book you will just carry on reading and need to find out what is going to happen. Rebecca has written something fantastic here and shows how far people will go to keep the past buried, how friendship can turn toxic and it is just so compelling!
