Here's the thing about being Inside. Ain't no one believes that they are.
Ele has never been Outside, but she knows it exists - she just has to prove it.
Her whole world is Inside. Trapped with her books and the Others and Him.
She has never seen a tree or felt the rain but that's about to change. Ele's getting out. For good.

My review - This a fantastic book. It is emotional and very intense and I think the author did a really good job with these subjects. I have put a trigger warning for this book as these scenes aren't graphic but the way they are painted will make you angry from the get go.
Ele is our main character. She lives in a tower with the Others but longs to be an Outside person but they have been told there is dragons, ogres and giants Outside and the inside is all she knows because of him. She is ready to get Outside for good and we get to see the world from the eyes of someone who has only known the Inside and taking everything in. Her descriptions are wonderful to read of things she has never seen before.
This is a story that was heartbreaking and expertly told. The author has done a fantastic job with this book. I had many questions in this book about the Others, the Outside and how Ele got there in the first place. The story plays out nicely and it never let go once. It kept me gripped from the beginning and I thought this was a brilliant story. It is a difficult read with sensitive issues but, as the story goes on and you see the world through Ele's eyes you won't be able to put it down.
