When she was little, Joni used to have dreams that she could fly. But these days her feet are firmly on the ground - they have to be when money's tight and her dad can't work and the whole family has to pull together to keep afloat.
Then she meets Annabel. Annabel is everything Joni isn't, and yet there's a spark between them. Though Joni barely believes it at first, she thinks they might be falling in love.
But when Annabel's parents find out about the relationship, it's clear they believe there are some differences that are impossible to overcome ...

My review - Another brilliant book from Karen.
Last year I read Countless by Karen and loved it instantly. It was a wonderful book and I was really excited to see she was bringing out a new book. I was instantly gripped. I adore the writing and the plot was really interesting and overall a wonderful story!
Joni and her family are living paycheck to paycheck. I totally felt for Joni and her family as this was me for awhile. Then, her father can't work due back injury so she and her family have to work together and do what they can to keep afloat. It's hard, wanting to live a life without worry. Joni meets Annabel. Her family has money and Joni is a little jealous but, even more, she's interested in Annabel. She wants to know more about her and vice versa. With time passing, their feelings get involved and they start to fall in love.
But, what will Annabel's parents think? They're different, and there will be a few obstacles thrown their way. Will they get their happy ending?
I love this book. It has so much in it that is very important. With the different classes, poverty, LGBT and how people are looked down on for living on a council estate. People are just trying to make it, like Joni and her family, and it's hard, especially with people looking down their noses at them.
A brilliant book from Karen Gregory that I believe everyone will love!
