Heartbreak, romance, fame and pop music - for anyone who's ever dreamed of saying 'I'm with the band'. Charlie Bloom never wanted to be 'with the band'. She's happiest out of the spotlight, behind her camera, unseen and unnoticed. But when she's asked to take backstage photos for hot new boy band, Fire&Lights, she can't pass up the chance. Catapulted into a world of paparazzi and backstage bickering, Charlie soon becomes caught between gorgeous but damaged frontman Gabriel West and his boy-next-door bandmate, Olly Samson. Then, as the boys' rivalry threatens to tear the band apart, Charlie stumbles upon a mindblowing secret, hidden in the lyrics of their songs ...

My review

~I was sent a proof copy from the publishers-all opinions are my own~

I give it - 5/5

My review - At first, I was praying there was going to be more books after this one after I finished it and then I found out there is going to be TWO more books and I am so happy! This book was just the most wonderful read. I am in a big boybandlit mood lately and I was so happy when I got a copy of this book in the mail and picked it up straight away and read in 2 hours without putting it down-It's that good.

I was gripped from the very beginning and I felt like I was there with Charlie as she went on her adventures with the band.

In this story we meet Charlie. She gets a facebook message from a guy who use to go to her school, a guy who is apart of the most popular band in the world and he is asking her to take photos of the band backstage as he remembers some of the photos she took a few years back. Charlie doesn't want to go for it at first but with a shove from her best friend she does it and has a great time but, she wants to stay anonymous as the kids at her school are obsessed with the band and Charlie isn't the most popular person at her school.

She starts to get to know the band, especially Gabriel the lead singer. Gabriel is having a tough time and he likes Charlie and she likes him but she realises there is something familiar with the songs he has recently written. How she has read the lyrics before and how is this all connected to their parents?

I really loved all the characters in this book. Charlie is always thinking of her mother who has passed and she always wears her hat in memory of her and reads her journals. Her and her father have an alright relationship but he is always a bit busy and is always trying to protect Charlie. I love her relationship with Melissa, her best friend. They have a few bumps in the road but they know they can both depend on each other and then her relationship with the band-Charlie becomes good friends with all of them and it gets harder for her when she has to deal with things popping up and she is worried with what will happen if people find out she hangs out with them and if something is going to happen with Gabriel.

She has a lot to deal with and I have a feeling that there is going to be a lot more drama in the next book and I am so ready for it with the way Chris has ended this book and it has left me with many questions!

This was brilliant book by Chris! Filled with relationships, family, friends, drama, relationships, romance and laughs and I loved every second of it!

I lay on my bed. I put on my headset. I listen to Renee Zawawi 5 original songs. And I feel like I have traveled the world! I hope she makes more new music 🎶

I hope that we can continue to improve this craft and this community that we have built. There is nothing that I want more than to see this community grow to the best possible version of itself, that is my dream.
