The 5th Wave by Rick Yancy

Picture
THE 1st WAVE

Took out half a million people.

THE 2nd WAVE

Put that number to shame.

THE 3rd WAVE

Lasted a little longer. Twelve weeks . . . Four billion dead.

IN THE 4th WAVE,

You can't trust that people are still people.

AND THE 5th WAVE?

No one knows.

But it's coming.

On a lonely stretch of highway, Cassie runs.

Runs from the beings that only look human, who have scattered Earth's last survivors.

To stay alone is to stay alive, until she meets Evan Walker. Beguiling and mysterious, Evan may be her only hope.

Now Cassie must choose: between trust and despair, between defiance and surrender, between life and death. To give up or to get up.

My review

I give it - 5/5

My review - I don't know why it took me so long to read this book but I'm so glad I picked it up! It is absolutely fantastic!

I love how it will do different POVs to show what's going on with different characters which really brought the whole story together for me.

I really loved Cassies character. She became such a strong female lead that she was just brilliant to read about. At the start of the waves she was scared but by the end she still had some emotion but had became stronger, especially for her little brother Sammy.

I loved Evan, I really did. Even though he was what he was, I still did like his character a lot as he was just wonderful.

This whole story was just brilliant and Rick has written such a masterpiece here, to me it is, as I am a big fan of the genre and I couldn't put the book down once. I really need the next book as I think this series will be one of my favourites. I haven't read that many alien books so this was a nice change for me and it was just so interesting and gripping.

I liked how it went back in time to show what happened before the 1st wave hit as it gave me more of an insight to the story and to Cassie.

Such a brilliant, gripping read for all!
