Two boys. Two secrets. David Piper has always been an outsider. His parents think he's gay. The school bully thinks he's a freak. Only his two best friends know the real truth - David wants to be a girl. On the first day at his new school Leo Denton has one goal - to be invisible. Attracting the attention of the most beautiful girl in year 11 is definitely not part of that plan. When Leo stands up for David in a fight, an unlikely friendship forms. But things are about to get messy. Because at Eden Park School secrets have a funny habit of not staying secret for long ...

My review

I give it - 5/5

My review - This book took me on an emotional rollarcoaster but it in a good way! I recently read this book as Lisa was coming to Liverpool and I was so glad I decided to read as I got to meet her and she was so lovely and she has written one of the best books I have ever read.

We follow two different boys in this book, David and Leo. David knows he's different, he's known since he was younger. He knows he wants to be a girl but he's worried if he tells his family and school that people will treat him differently and he's scared of their reaction but he knows that he is meant to be a girl, it's all he wants.

Leo moves to the area and has a dark past. He doesn't have the best home or family and a lot has happened to him and he tries to keep everything locked up and not let anyone know what has happened to him. Then one day Leo sticks up for David and they become friends. They fight and argue but you can tell that they are really good friends. But their secrets don't stay secrets for long.

This book was just brilliant. I cried at the end as it was the most beautiful ending to a book and just how I thought it should have ended. Lisa is a fantastic author and she has written an emotional, gripping, beautiful book that I think everyone needs to read. This is a book about figuring out who you really are and not letting your past dictate who you are, with a lot of friendship and family relationships, this book will keep you reading until the very end and just loving every second of it. I cannot wait to read more from Lisa!
