The Bloodprint
by
Ausma Zehanat Khan

Picture
A dark power known as the Talisman has risen in the land. Born of ignorance and persecution, it is led by a man known only as the One-Eyed Preacher. A superstitious patriarchy, cruel and terrifying, the Talisman suppresses knowledge and subjugates women. And it is growing.
But there are those who seek to stop the oppressive spread of the Talisman. A resistance formed of the Companions of Hira - a group of rebels versed in the power of ancient scripture, a magic known as the Claim - believe they have discovered the key to destroying the One-Eyed Preacher and his fervid followers: The Bloodprint.
Finding this dangerous manuscript that the Talisman has tried to erase from the world promises to be their most dangerous undertaking yet: a perilous journey deep into Talisman territory which may prove to be their last.

My review

~I was sent a copy from the publishers-all opinions are my own~

I give it -
4/5

My review - Okay, wow.

Ausma you are a fantastic writer. Just, wow. This book blew my mind.

I was instantly gripped from the beginning and I couldn't put it down until I had finished it. It was so gripping and just the whole story had me on the edge waiting to see what happened. I love a fantasy story and Ausma has done a brilliant job with this one.

This is the first book in her fantasy series and I can see it only getting better. If this was the first book? Just, wow. The world, the plot, the who descriptive of the fantasy world she is building is just one of those you will love.

If you love the Throne Of Glass series or ASOIAF then you are going to love this.

In this world a dark power called The Talisman is rising. We meet Arian and her friend Sinnia. They have an opportunity to find an ancient text that can stop all of this-the Bloodprint.

You are thrown right into the action and after a few chapters I was hooked. I needed to know what was happening, more about these characters, their backgrounds and I'm not saying the book left on a cliffhanger but....

If you are a fantasy lover this book should be on your radar.
