Of course I want to be like them. They're beautiful as blades forged in some divine fire. They will live forever. And Cardan is even more beautiful than the rest. I hate him more than all the others. I hate him so much that sometimes when I look at him, I can hardly breathe. One terrible morning, Jude and her sisters see their parents murdered in front of them. The terrifying assassin abducts all three girls to the world of Faerie, where Jude is installed in the royal court but mocked and tormented by the Faerie royalty for being mortal. As Jude grows older, she realises that she will need to take part in the dangerous deceptions of the fey to ever truly belong. But the stairway to power is fraught with shadows and betrayal. And looming over all is the infuriating, arrogant and charismatic Prince Cardan . .

My review

I give it - 5/5

My review - WHAT A BOOK, WHAT AN ENDING! WHAT A WONDERFUL BUNCH OF CHARACTERS!

This book took me on a rollarcoaster of feelings, twists and so much more and I just loved every second of it.

In this book we meet Jude. When she and her sisters where younger her parents where murdered and they where taken to the land of the faerie. Years later, they have come to like the life of the faerie. For Jude and her sister are just Mortals they tend to get picked on. With things changing in their world Jude wants to take part in a tournament to show how tough she really is for a mortal. With the king changing and a really frustrating Prince Carden always bugging her, can she figure out what is happening and hopefully put a stop to it? Or will she be shocked and hurt by the betrayal that lies ahead?

I really loved Jude. She is a brilliant character to follow in this book. In the beginning she tries just take everything in stride. She wants to to show the fey she is strong and not just a weak mortal. With other people making fun of her she finally starts to get stronger and stands up for herself. We really get to see her grow in this book and read about her life in the faerie land.

A wonderful start to this series. I cannot wait to see where this series goes as I really enjoy reading about Jude and how kick ass she is. Also, Oak is the cutest brother and just so adorable.

A fantasy story that will keep you gripped from the beginning. It is full of magic, love, drama, betrayal and so much more!
