Everyone said the Graces were witches. They moved through the corridors like sleek fish, ripples in their wake. Stares followed their backs and their hair. They had friends, but they were just distractions. They were waiting for someone different. All I had to do was show them that person was me. Like everyone else in her town, River is obsessed with the Graces, attracted by their glamour and apparent ability to weave magic. But are they really what they seem? And are they more dangerous than they let on?
My review - 2017 seems so far away for the sequel. I want it so badly as I know a lot of things can happen and I just want to dive into it right now. This book was fantastic and it gripped me from the very beginning and I enjoyed every second of it. I felt myself addicted, wanting to know about The Graces and of course our main character and how she came into all of this. It is a highly addictive story that you won't be able to put down, I want to go back in time and read it for the first time again, it is that fantastic.
Laure has a wonderful way of writing. It was so beautifully written that I was captured from the very first page.
We start of with our new character, who likes to be called River. She moves to this new town with her mother after her fathers disappearance and already, she has heard everything to do with The Graces. The Graces are a family who ooze class and their has been a rumor going round that this family are witches.
River is very intrigued.
We have 3 Graces siblings. Summer, who is the youngest at 15 and the twins, Fenrin and Thalia who are 17. They are a beautiful family and have tones of friends within the school and one day Summer decides to befriend River. Who, is really happy about that since she has a crush on Fenrin but she is getting something much more than that-people who care for her.
River wants to know what their family is hiding. Why does a boy called Marcus stalk Thalia? Do they really have magic? Could they bring back River's father?
But, what is River hiding?
This book completely shocked me at the end. I was so into the book that I didn't realise a big twist was coming and it was amazing and has made me so excited for the next book. All the characters where written beautifully, all different in their own way. They are a really strong family and letting River into that is a big leap for them, did they make the right choice?
Defiantly one of my favourite books of 2016. If you get this book you won't be able to put it down and you will be needing the next one straight away like me-again, 2017 is so far away.
Congrats Laure on your fantastic book, I cannot wait for the next one!
