The Island At The End Of Everything by Kiran Millwood Hargrave
Amihan lives on Culion Island, where some of the inhabitants - including her mother - have leprosy. Ami loves her home - with its blue seas and lush forests, Culion is all she has ever known. But the arrival of malicious government official Mr Zamora changes her world forever: islanders untouched by sickness are forced to leave. Banished across the sea, she's desperate to return, and finds a strange and fragile hope in a colony of butterflies. Can they lead her home before it's too late?

I give it - 5/5
My review - Can Kiran do no wrong? Her first book, The Girl Of Ink & Stars, was one of my favourites last year and this book is one of my favourites for this year.
I love the way Kiran writes and I was so happy she has written another book and the wonderful publishers sent me a copy which I just devoured. It's not too long but it's the right amount to pull you with Kirans magical writing ways that just wrap you up and don't let you stop until you've finished reading. I've already re-read this book as I just can't get it out of my mind. In a good way, I keep telling all my friends and family about it how they need to go pick it up because they will love it.
I love it, it was just so wonderful and I'm so excited to see what Kiran does next. She really has a way with story-telling, how her writing just flows and it's beautiful and you all need to get this book and her previous one if you haven't already.
In this book we follow Ami, who lives with her mother who lives on an island where people are sent who suffer from leprosy. There are families on the island and some suffer from leprosy and some aren't affected, like Ami. This place is there home and one day a government official is sent there to change things. They are separating those who are affected, or touched, from those who aren't. So, Ami is sent to an orphanage on a different island where they are made to feel unwelcome because they come from Culion.
A story of getting torn apart from your family, the people you love and thrown into a place where you feel like an outcast. But, she meets a girl and together they set out to get Ami home.
A beautiful poetic story that everyone needs to read and you will just fall in love with Kirans writing.
