Picture
Adventure, intrigue, and romance combine in a new fantasy duology from Incarnate series author Jodi Meadows.
When Princess Wilhelmina was a child, the Indigo Kingdom invaded her homeland. Ten years later, Wil and the other noble children who escaped are ready to fight back and reclaim Wil's throne. To do so, Wil and her best friend, Melanie, infiltrate the Indigo Kingdom palace with hopes of gathering information that will help them succeed.
But Wil has a secret—one that could change everything. Although magic has been illegal for a century, she knows her ability could help her save her kingdom. But magic creates wraith, and the deadly stuff is moving closer and destroying the land. And if the vigilante Black Knife catches her using magic, she may disappear like all the others. . .

My review

~I was sent a free copy of this to review, this in no way impacts my opinion~

I give it - 4/5

My review - Once in awhile I will come across a brilliant fantasy novel and it was the fantastic THE ORPHAN QUEEN.

The only reason I have gave it one less star is because it did take me a bit to get into the book but as soon as I did was hooked! Plus the cover is beautiful!!

This book left on the biggest cliffhanger and I cried. I was so caught up in the characters and the story that I couldn't help but cry at the end and it left me wanting the next book and to see what was going to happen with certain characters.

Jodi is an amazing writer. She has done a fantastic job with this story and I always have to praise authors who make up their own fantasy world as it wows me. The world building and the character development was fantastic within this book.

In this story we follow Wil or Princess Wilhelmina. When she was a child her kingdom Aecor was taken by their neighbour Indigo. Ten years have passed and there is a group called Osperys and they want Wil to take the kingdom back. But Wil uses magic and it is forbidden. But is will her magic be the key to stop the Wraith? And also Black Knife who is a charming vigilante who wants to help people and he is a bit of a mystery. But his personality becomes more defined as his and Wil's relationship grows.

This book had a tone of twist that kept me reading to the end. This book had a bit of everything and I'm really excited to see where Jodi goes with it.
