I give it - 4/5
My review - First things first, this is one of the most beautiful books I have ever seen and held. If you get this book you need to get it asap in HB because it is just gorgeous and the story is just fantastic. I haven't many of Cressida's books but, I cannot wait to pick up more of them. She is a brilliant writer and the writing flows so elegantly.
A story about a young wizard and a young warrior. They have been taught to hate each other but, when their worlds collide something is about to happen. Xar is the wizard who has no magic and wants it. Wish is a warrior and is hiding a magical object and hopes no one finds it. They are about to go on an adventure of a life time.
I haven't read many Middle grade books this year and they are some of my favourites. Cressida is a brilliant story-teller and the illustrations in this book really bring it all together. It isn't the longest of stories but, just the right amount. I enjoyed every second of this book and reading about Xar and Wish. About their lives and the journey they go on and putting aside that Wizards and Warriors don't like each other. They both have different personalities and this book really talks about some topics that a child would understand and like.
I really feel like anyone can read this book and if you have a child in your life I think you should definitely pick this book to read to them because they will enjoy it and so will you!
