Three Dark Crowns
by
Kendare Blake

Picture

In every generation on the island of Fennbirn, a set of triplets is born: three queens, all equal heirs to the crown and each possessor of a coveted magic. Mirabella is a fierce elemental, able to spark hungry flames or vicious storms at the snap of her fingers. Katharine is a poisoner, one who can ingest the deadliest poisons without so much as a stomach-ache. Arsinoe, a naturalist, is said to have the ability to bloom the reddest rose and control the fiercest of beasts. But becoming the Queen Crowned isn't solely a matter of royal birth. Each sister has to fight for it. And it's not just a game of win or lose ...it's life or death. The night the sisters turn sixteen, the battle begins. The last queen standing gets the crown.

My review

I give it - 4/5

My review - I really need to go out and buy the other two covers of this book now. I have the red cover but after reading this book and falling in love with the world and the characters I need the other covers and the next book now. This book left on a cliffhanger and I have so many questions that need to be answered and I just love this world that Kendare has created!

In this book we follow three different characters. Triplets who are all getting raised to become queen one day. They are all sent of to different places to be trained and learn about their powers and when they're 16 they will meet again-for the final time. As there can only be one queen and they have to fight to the death and until one is left standing and that one will become queen.

We follow Mirabella who is an elemental, Katherine is a poisoner and Arsinoe is a naturalist. They all lead different lives and haven't seen each other since they where younger and they are getting trained in the art of their talents to use them against their sisters to kill them and take the throne. A lot of twist and turns happen and it is great to read from each of the sisters and get in their heads and see what they really think of the whole situation and other things that are happening or are going to happen.

And then, the book finished on a cliffhanger and I cannot cope with how excited I am for the next book to see what happens to these characters and what will happen after certain events that took place in Three Dark Crowns.

Kendare has created a dark, magical place that I have just fell in love with. The sisters are so interesting in their own ways and I cannot wait to see what happens in the next book and where it is going to take all of them. I have questions that need to be answered and I need to know what happens to these characters!

Can I have the next book now?
